HYDRATE & PROTECT

It’s everyone’s dream to have dewy skin that’s immune to the effects of Sahara-like heating, over-zealous air conditioning, penetrating sunlight and whipping wind. As we age, our skin’s protective barrier diminishes, making it less able to repair itself and more vulnerable to irritation and sensitivity.

These tips help prevent this vicious cycle and help keep your skin soft and smooth.
1. CLEANSE AND EXFOLIATE: Apply a dime size amount of Chamomile Cleansing Milk or Sweet Lupine Makeup Remover & Cleansing Cream to moist skin. Rinse. If your skin looks flaky, it’s time to exfoliate, but avoid peels which can over-stimulate irritated skin. Apply a dime size amount of Oat Cleansing Facial Polish and gently massage skin. For extra hydration, leave on as a mask for 3-5 minutes to allow the soothing extracts of Oat Beta Glucan to plump collagen and deeply hydrate the skin. Rinse.
2. NOURISH with an Oat Milk Bath: For enhanced hydration, make an Oat Milk Bath. Place ½ cup of Oats in a washcloth and tie into a ball with a rubber band. Fill sink with warm water, immerse ball and squeeze several times until water becomes cloudy. Splash Oat Milk water on face or use the moist ball as a soothing facial compress to calm stressed skin.
3. HYDRATE AND PROTECT: Follow with a cream instead of a lotion. Creams are richer and better at holding water in the skin. Layer on a pea size amount of Beech Tree & Ginseng Daily Moisturizer, rich in antioxidants and humectants. For extra dry or sensitive skin, use Calendula Essential Hydrating Cream, rich in emollients to hold in moisture. These creams insulate the skin, which is key when skin has been over-exposed to extreme temperatures or pollution.
4. HOOK UP THE HUMIDIFIER: Humidifiers increase moisture levels in the air which helps prevent skin from drying out. Place a humidifier in your bedroom to recharge your skin with moisture at night.
